Mount Olive Press

We publish a small number of well-researched books that will help you see the Bible in its Jewish context. Those who have discovered that the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament) and the New Testament are one story understand the need for resources that make the Bible whole.
Our books (and coming soon: CD’s, DVD’s, and downloadable media) are written with the following principles in mind:

1. God did not skip from Genesis 3 to the New Testament.
2. God had a purpose in choosing Israel as his covenant people.
3. God is revealing himself through the people Israel.
4. It is through Israel that God brought Messiah and the Bible.
5. It is to Israel that Messiah will soon return.
6. Yeshua and the apostles lived Jewish lives in the Jewish community.
7. God accepts Gentiles as Gentiles, not requiring conversion.

The Old Testament is not a dead book. I found that out sitting in a Bible College classroom. Determined to learn about Judaism and Jewish culture, I decided that concentrating on the Old Testament would be wise.
I had limited knowledge of the Bible and the faith at the time. I had only become a follower of Jesus a year and a half before. My limited church experience taught me that the height of the Bible was Paul. Slightly below Paul in importance were the other letter writers such as Peter and John. Next were the gospels, then Genesis, and the Psalms, and perhaps Proverbs.
Definitely at the bottom of the ladder were the rest of the books—the rest of the Old Testament.
